Crazy Data Science - Metallytica

Did you ever dream of being in a metal band? Screaming and shredding your guitar to thousands of people running into each other in the biggest mosh pit you’ve ever seen in your life? Waiting for that breakdown to hit so you can bang your head together with all these glorious metalheads?
Unfortunately, most of us data people here can only dream about the things described above and we will sadly never see our names headlining Wacken Open Air…or will we?
After discovering there is a strong correlation between data science and metal, the Crazy Data Science crew embarked on a new adventure of epic proportions: starting a metal band through the power of data science \m/
Join us in this session and witness how we put the power of machine learning to work to help us write lyrics, rank which riffs are metal enough to include in our songs (live shredding included) and find the sweet spot in terms of lyrical sentiment to make sure we don’t end up with mainstream ballads. Who knows, you might even learn a thing or two in the process!

Time: 12:15 – 12:35

Room: Main Stage

Session format: Trash Metal (20 Minutes)

Session level: Touring Band (300)
